Our Mission:

Gloucester Township’s Special Parents & Kids Network (SPKN) is a township supported, parent-directed, parent-to-parent support, education and information resources group that firmly believes that providing events and resources for families who care for special needs individuals is important to enhancing the lives of those individuals and their families. We are committed to building a network of resources, socialization opportunities, continuing education and support to children of all ages with special needs, their families and caregivers. Additionally, this group acts as a means to provide awareness of the importance of social integration of our children into the general population using opportunities to educate others and create overall societal acceptance.

What We Do:

As a group we do many amazing things together. Our goal is to provide 5 or 6 group activities each year. • Hosted Resource & Educational Speakers
  • Created Up-to-Date Local Resource Guide
  • Hosted Indoor Movie Nights
  • Annual Pool Party
  • Yoga Classes
  • Annual Tween/Teen/Young Adult Dance
  • Hooked on Fishing Events

  • Created and donated Sensory Bags for G.T. Police cars

Come Join Us!

Additionally, this group acts as a means to provide awareness of the importance of social integration of our children into the general population using opportunities to educate others and create overall societal acceptance. We invite all parents, siblings, extended family, neighbors, teachers, friends and anyone with an open, generous heart who would like to be a part of our group, to come out to our meetings and events. Please consider getting involved with our families, children and young adults! Become their friends and mentors, and help to make a difference in their lives!

Additionally, we also have professionals speaking at our meetings to help educate families on things like therapeutic techniques & resources, constructive coping methods, legal and educational matters, etc. If you are a professional who would like to offer a parental education session on your area of specialty, please contact us at GloTwpSPKN@hotmail.com.
