Gloucester Township’s Special Parents & Kids Network is a township supported, parent-directed parent-to-parent support, education and information group that firmly believes that providing events and resources for families who care for special needs individuals is important to enhancing the lives of those individuals and their families. We are committed to building a network of resources, socialization opportunities, continuing education and support to children of all ages with special needs, their families and caregivers. This group also acts as a means to provide awareness of the importance of social integration of our children into the general population using opportunities to educate others and create overall societal acceptance.

What We Do:
As a group we do many amazing things together. Our goal is to provide at least one organized group activity per month. Leader and planners work together to incorporate diversity of activities into our events so as to provide beneficial programming to serve members from each of our age groups. We also work together to share resources and provide support for parents and caregivers. Some of our noteworthy accomplishments this past year have been:
- Monthly Parental Meetings
- Hosted Resource & Educational Speakers
- Created Up-to-Date Local Resource Guide
- Hosted Two Indoor Movie Nights
- Hosted a Pool Party
- Hosted a Nature Scavenger Hunt
- Hosted an Activity Based Exercise Program
- Hosted a Tween/Teen Dance
- Martial Arts/Self-Defense Classes
Come Join Us!
Additionally, this group acts as a means to provide awareness of the importance of social integration of our children into the general population using opportunities to educate others and create overall societal acceptance. We invite all parents, siblings, extended family, neighbors, teachers, friends and anyone with an open, generous heart who would like to be part of our group, to come out to our meetings and events. Please consider getting involved with our families, children and young adults! Become their friends and mentors, and help to make a difference in their lives! Additionally, we also have professionals speaking at our monthly parent meetings to help educate families on things like therapeutic techniques & resources, constructive coping methods, legal and educational matters, etc. If you are a professional who would like to offer a parental education session on your area of specialty please contact us at GloTwpSPKN@hotmail.com.
