Gloucester Township Mayor David Mayer and Township Council are excited to announce the launching of Gloucester Township Town Heroes Banner Program.
“Gloucester Township is proud to be home to countless active military personnel and veterans; and the Town Heroes Banner Program is a great opportunity for the community of Gloucester Township to recognize our heroes for their service and sacrifice to our country,” said Mayor Mayer.
The Gloucester Township Town Heroes Banner Program will recognize and honor Gloucester Township veterans who have served or who are currently serving our country in the United States Military.
Banners honoring our brave service men and women will be proudly displayed in prominent locations within the township.
To qualify, a veteran, living or deceased, must have a connection to Gloucester Township, NJ, (attended local schools, relative of a Gloucester Township resident etc.) at some point in his or her life, also those individuals honored on Gloucester Township War Memorials and veterans recommended by the local VFW and American Legion Posts.
Applications will be reviewed on a first come, first–served basis.
Once the application is verified and funding for the banner has been received, the Township will notify the applicant of the approval and create the banner. The cost of each banner is $275.00 (including installation and removal).
Banners will be mapped digitally for the public to view. Locations of banners may also be obtained at the Municipal Building.
Only one banner may be displayed for any individual service member.
The nominator must provide a good quality photo of reasonable resolution. The servicemember does not have to be in uniform in the photo, but service portraits are preferred. Please email photos to rcaristo@glotwp.com
Payment may be made:
- In-person, by check or cash at the Rec Center ( 80 Broadacres Drive)
- If paying by debit/credit card online, a separate service charge of 2.9% will be added to the total price, as dictated by our electronic payment service provider.
- The Nominator can request sponsorship in which case your application will be placed on a waitlist with production times varied based on sponsorship funding availability.

SPONSOR A BANNER
Customized military street banners are funded through private donations. Banners may be sponsored by individuals or organizations. The cost of each banner is $275.00 (including installation and removal). Please complete the Sponsor Form below and the Gloucester Township staff will follow up for full payment at the time of the application acceptance.
The logo of your company or your name will be printed on the bottom of the banner following “Sponsored By.”

Waiver and Limitations
- Gloucester Township will install and maintain the banners for 2 years, after which time they will be removed once they show signs of deterioration.
- The Township reserves the right to not install a banner if the requirements of this banner program are not met.
- Gloucester Township reserves the irrevocable right to use the photograph/image/likeness in all forms and manner, and edit, use, reproduce, exhibit and distribute this photograph in whole or in part, in any manner and media now known or hereinafter invented, including, but not limited to, print, publications, the Township website, banners, and social media, in perpetuity throughout the world, in support of and/or to promote the Gloucester Township programs, services and mission, and for archival purposes.
