Fall 2018 Program Registration Information

September 5: Program & Bus Trip Registration
September 10: Non-Resident Registration

Registration for programs and bus trips are held at the Recreation Center beginning at 8am and will continue until the program or trip reaches capacity.

Space is limited for all programs and trips. In-person registration is required for all activities. Registration forms must be filled out by the participant or parent/guardian. Make checks payable to “Twp. of Gloucester” except where otherwise noted; two separate checks may be necessary.

Preschool registration also requires a photocopy of the child’s birth certificate & medical records.

Full refunds will be given only if the Recreation Department cancels a trip or program due to low enrollment. We reserve the right to cancel a trip or program if enough people have not registered in advance.

Program refunds will be given minus a $10.00 processing fee. This refund must be requested before 20% of the scheduled classes are completed. Trip refunds will only be given if a replacement can be found. Trip refunds are also subject to a $10.00 processing fee. Please bring your receipt to the office for processing. All refunds take 30-45 days to process.

Non-Residents can now register for all Recreation Dept. Programs for an additional $10 fee. Residents can begin
registering on Sept. 5 and non-residents begin on Sept. 10. Cash or Check only. If using check, 2 are required.

 

FALL 2018 YOUTH PROGRAMS

HERBAL BATH AND BODY FOR KIDS
Mondays: Sept. 17, Last class Oct. 22 | 6 Weeks
5:30pm – 7:00pm Held at Chews UMC
Cost: $100. to Yellow House Herbs/$10. to Glo. Twp

This class will teach kids how herbs can benefit their skin, their health and their energy levels! They will create a weekly herbal, all-natural bath or body product from scratch while learning about herbs from a Master Herbalist from Yellow House Herbs, a holistic wellness business right here in Gloucester Township. All materials are provided. Come have fun and learn to make your own bath bombs, shampoo, soap and more!
 
SURGE TUMBLING
Wednesdays: Sept. 19; Last Class Oct.24 | 6 Weeks
5:30pm – 6:30pm Held at GT Recreation Center
Cost: $50 to Desi Sergi/$10. to Glo. Twp.

All ability levels welcome! Just starting out, looking to perfect or learn how to do an ariel, tuk, walk over, handstand, cartwheel, etc.). This class focuses on motor skills, balance and basic fundamentals of tumbling for young athletes. Class taught to the individual. Whether you are new to tumbling or have some advanced fundamental skills your child will learn at their own pace, without feeling overwhelmed. Children will learn a choreographed routine to perform on the last day of class. Family encouraged to attend their performance. Open to ages 4-11.
 
SURGE HIP HOP/TUMBLING
Wednesdays: Nov. 7; Last Class Dec. 12 | 6 Weeks
5:30pm – 6:30pm Held at GT Recreation Center
Cost: $50 to Desi Sergi/$10. to Glo. Twp.

All ability levels welcome! No prior tumbling or hip hop experience is required. Tumblers will learn the proper technique and execution of forwards rolls, bridges, cartwheels, in addition to walk overs and handsprings! This class will also enjoy learning basic hip hop moves and rhythm through dance exploration using today’s greatest hits and upbeat age appropriate music. Open to ages 4-11.
 
SOCCER SHOTS
Thursdays: Sept. 27; Last class Nov. 1 | 6 Weeks
Parent & Me Mini Program | Ages 2-3 | 6:00 – 6:30pm
Classic Program | Ages 3-4 | 6:40 – 7:10pm
Cost: $72 to Soccer Shots/$10 to Glo. Twp.
Held at Rec Center

Soccer Shots is a national leader in youth soccer development for young children. Our program has been created under the guidance of childhood education specialists, professional soccer players and experienced coaches. Our innovative lesson plans are developmentally appropriate and tailored specifically to the age groups we teach. Using these creative and age appropriate curricula and infusing each lesson plan with enthusiasm and structured activity, soccer shots aims to leave a lasting, positive impact on every child we serve.
 
PRESCHOOL PLAYTIME
Fridays: Sept. 28; Last Class Nov. 30 | 8 Weeks
10am-12 noon Held at Point Ariel Park
Cost: $115 to Amy Mazakas/$10. to Glo. Twp.

Designed for children 3 1/2-5 years old. This class will focus on your child’s creativity through a variety of crafts, music and play. This class is based on engaging your child in fun and creative ways of learning. Each week there will be a new and exciting theme to explore. Children must be potty-trained. Please provide a snack for your child. No class 11/9 & 11/23.
 
KIDDING AROUND YOGA with Marie
Fridays: Sept. 28; Last class Nov. 2 | 6 Weeks
4:45 – 5:45pm Held at Still Point Yoga Center
Cost: $45 to Still Point Yoga Center/$10 to Glo. Twp.

This yoga class is designed for kids to learn yoga in a playful way that fosters creativity and builds confidence, focus, and cooperation. Children will learn yoga poses, sing songs, listen to stories, and relax together, mastering the art of being a kid, in this uplifting, non competitive and fun environment. Please bring a water bottle to class. Studio supplies mats. Open to ages 4-12.
 
YOUTH QUICKSTART TENNIS
Saturdays: September 29; Last class Nov 5 | 5 Weeks
10 – 11:45am Held at GT Community Park
Cost: $75 to Ron Miller/$10 to Glo. Twp.
This format of kid-sized 10-and-under Tennis promotes quick success and lots of fun on the court. Through enjoyable activities and skill-based play, participants get an introduction to strokes, terms, movement & scoring. Instructional games, scaled-down courts and nets, and youth racquets and balls are all designed for the size of a young child. Parents are encouraged to participate in family-friendly weekly activities. Final class provides opportunity to participate in RED BALL Team Challenge & Pizza Party (at additional cost). All equipment is provided. Bring your own water bottle. Open to children ages 5-10. Limited to 24 students. No class 10/6.
SPECIAL 2nd STUDENT DISCOUNT
2 students for $160 plus Twp. Fee
($140 to Ron Miller/$20 to GT).
