Summer 2019 Program Registration Information

May 6: Summer Sports Camps & Programs Registration

May 28: Preschool Camp, Police Camp & Nature Camp Registration

May 29: Playground Camp, Adventure Tween & Middle School Camp Registration

June 3: Non-Resident Registration

Registration is held at the Recreation Center beginning at 8am. You may register beginning on the above dates and can continue registering until a program fills. Space is limited for all programs and trips. In-person registration is required for all activities. Make checks payable to “Twp. of Gloucester” except where otherwise noted; two separate checks may be necessary.

Bring a valid drivers license and second proof of residency to registration to receive resident rate. Preschool registration also requires a photocopy of the child’s birth certificate and medical record. Refunds will be given if the Recreation Department cancels a trip or program due to low enrollment. We reserve the right to cancel a trip or program if enough people have not registered in advance. Program and camp refunds will be given minus a $10.00 processing fee. This refund must be requested before 20% of the scheduled classes are completed. Sports Camp refunds will be issued only if the request is made at least 1 week prior to the start. Please bring your receipt to the office for processing. All refunds take 30-45 days to process. Returned checks are subject to a $25.00 fee.

The grade specified (K-8) for all summer camps is current grade for the 2018/2019 school year. We will verify age using school records or may request proof of age.

Non-Residents can register for all Recreation Dept. Programs for an additional $10 fee.



SUMMER SESSION | July 15–18 | 4 nights

SPECIAL 2nd STUDENT DISCOUNT: 2 Students: $120 (Ron Miller) + $20 to Glou.Twp. = $140 total

Players divided into world teams will use their agility, balance, and coordination, along with some basic learned tennis skills, in Olympic-themed competition with their peers. Our goal is to provide a fun environment while all teammates participate in tennis-related games and activities promoting teamwork, on-court problem-solving, skills, and cooperation among players. Teams will win Gold, Silver, or Bronze awards based upon their event successes.

The focus of this camp is to teach basketball skills. Have fun during this camp while learning the fundamentals of the sport through skill building. Please bring a drink and a snack daily and wear sneakers. Instructor Charles Senatore is back for his 21st year! Held at the Rec Center.

PreK Mini Reds (Ages 3-5)

Time: 9am – 11am | Cost: $99 to RedsTriState Group/$20 to GT

Ages 5-15 (Split by age groups)

Join our week long soccer camp for beginners through elite! Players will be challenged by Academy coaches from the UK and America. Get individualized attention from professional players and coaches. Improve your game and have a blast doing it! Cost includes camp T-shirt. Fridays will be used a raindate.

July 8-12 | Ages 9-14 | 6:30pm – 8:30pm
Cost: $125 to R. Pyles/$10 to Glo. Twp.

Bring out the creativity and build math and problem solving skills in this week-long sewing camp for students 9-14. We will go over how to set up the machine, basic stitches and complete projects that will reinforce skills. Projects include Pillow, Zipper pouch, Notebook cover, and Drawstring backpack. All projects and materials included in cost of class. Must bring your own sewing machine.

July 29-August 2 | 1:30pm – 3:30pm

Cost: $90. to N Zone Sports/$10. to Glo. Twp.

Nzone Sports will offer a 1 week Sports Camp this summer to children ages 4-10 with various sports being played during the week. This will include: flag football, soccer, t-ball, basketball. All equipment provided by coach. Sessions include age-specific instruction through a series of fun, interactive activities. Sessions also include exciting games, where players will have a chance to display the skills they are learning. We understand that the more enjoyment a child has while learning a sport, the more likely they’ll want to keep playing. Our curriculum centers around making each session fun, while learning important values. Ages: 4-10. N Zone Sports provides all equipment to play! “Get Out ‘N’ Play”

Fridays: June 28; Last Class August 9 | 6 weeks
4:45pm – 5:45pm Held at Still Point Yoga Center
Cost: $45 to Still Point Yoga Center/$10 to Glo. Twp.

This yoga class is designed for kids to learn yoga in a playful way that fosters creativity and builds confidence, focus, and cooperation. Children will learn yoga poses, sing songs, listen to stories, and relax together, mastering the art of being a kid, in this uplifting, non competitive and fun environment. Studio supplies mats. Open to children ages 4-12 years. No class July 5th.

July 22 – 26 | Monday – Friday Held at Rec Center
Cost: $75 to Soccer Shots/$10 to Glo Twp.

Soccer shots is a national leader in youth soccer development for young children. Our program has been created under the guidance of childhood educational specialists, professional soccer players and experienced coaches. To approach every session with two objectives: fun for every child and learning new soccer skills and concepts. Soccer shots aims to leave a lasting, positive impact on every child who plays.

August 12-15 | 10:00am – 11:30am Held at GT Pool
Cost: $60 to Gloucester Twp. or $70 to Nonresidents

This camp is for children ages 8 – 14 who are intermediate swimmers and have had experience with swimming and want to improve his/her techniques through learning competitive swim skills. Friday will be used as a raindate.

5:30pm-6:30pm Held at GT Recreation Center
Cost: $60. to Desi Sergi/$10. to Glo. Twp.

All ability levels welcome! Just starting out, looking to perfect or learn how to do an ariel, tuk, walk over, handstand, cartwheel, etc.). This class focuses on motor skills, balance and basic fundamentals of tumbling for young athletes. Class taught to the individual. Whether you are new to tumbling or have some advanced fundamental skills your child will learn at their own pace, without feeling overwhelmed. Children will learn a choreographed routine to perform on the last day of class. Open to ages 4-11.
Wednesdays: July 10; Last Class August 28 | 8 weeks
5:30pm-6:30pm Held at GT Recreation Center

All ability levels welcome! No prior tumbling or hip hop experience is required. Tumblers will learn the proper technique and execution of forwards rolls, bridges, cartwheels, in addition to walk overs and handsprings! This class will also enjoy learning basic hip hop moves and rhythm through dance exploration using today’s greatest hits and upbeat age appropriate music. Open to ages 4-11.

Saturdays: May 11– June 15 | 5 Weeks
9:00am-10:45am Held at GT Community Park

This format of kid-sized 10-and-under Tennis promotes quick success and lots of fun on the court. Through activities and skill-based play, participants get an introduction to strokes, terms, movement and scoring. Instructional games, scaled-down courts and nets, and youth racquets and balls are all designed for the size of a young child. Parents are encouraged to participate in family-friendly weekly activities. All equipment is provided. Bring your own water bottle. Open to ages 5-10. Class size limited to 24. No class 6/1. Tuesdays: May 28; Last Class July 9 | 6 weeks

Cost: $80. to N Zone Sports/$10. to Glo. Twp.

Our program combines age-specific instruction for boys and girls ages 3-10. For ages 3-4, N Zone Sports proudly offers our award winning N Zone Jr. program. Children learn fundamentals through age-specific instruction provided by N Zone Certified Staff. More importantly, increasing children’s self esteem is emphasized through positive reinforcement and an environment filled with encouragement. Players age 5-10 will focus on skill building through instructor-led drills and scrimmages. The environment is upbeat and fun, allowing players to enjoy the game while learning. Each player will receive an Nzone Jersey included with registration. Don’t just stand on the sidelines, Get N’ the Zone!

Fridays: June 21; Last Class August 9 | 8 weeks
2:15pm – 3:00pm Held at GT Recreation Center
Cost: $60. to Desi Sergi/$10. to Glo. Twp.

This class is the perfect class combining fitness and fun! Each child will develop fine and gross motor skills, body awareness, strength and flexibility all while having fun. A small performance will be held on the last day of class. Parents are encouraged to attend. Additional help will be provided to help assist the instructor. Open to children ages 2-4.
