Spring & Summer 2018 Program Registration Information

September 5: Program & Bus Trip Registration
September 10: Non-Resident Registration

Registration for programs and bus trips are held at the Recreation Center beginning at 8am and will continue until the program or trip reaches capacity. Space is limited for all programs and trips. In-person registration is required for all activities. Make checks payable to “Twp. of Gloucester” except where otherwise noted; two separate checks may be necessary.

Preschool registration also requires a photocopy of the child’s birth certificate & medical records.

Full refunds will be given only if the Recreation Department cancels a trip or program due to low enrollment. We reserve the right to cancel a trip or program if enough people have not registered in advance.

Program refunds will be given minus a $10.00 processing fee. This refund must be requested before 20% of the scheduled classes are completed. Trip refunds will only be given if a replacement can be found. Trip refunds are also subject to a $10.00 processing fee. Please bring your receipt to the office for processing. All refunds take 30-45 days to process.

 

ADULT PROGRAMS – FALL 2018

Non-Residents can now register for all Recreation Dept. Programs for an additional $10 fee. Residents can begin
registering on Sept. 5 and non-residents begin on Sept. 10. Cash or Check only. If using check, 2 are required.

 

Mondays

PILATES BARRE AND MAT
Mondays: Sept. 24, Last class Dec. 10 | 10 Weeks
6:30pm – 7:30pm Held at Point Ariel Park
Cost: $50. to A. Davis/$10. to Glo. Twp.

Get the best of 2 Pilates workouts! First enjoy Chair Barre, a combo of standing Pilates and ballet moves. This part can be done with sneakers if you have any foot injuries or balance issues. Then our mat Pilates workout for strengthening and toning your core and body. Instructor will be providing bands and handled resistance tubing for you to use during class times. Bring a mat, water & light weights. Open to HS students and adults. No class 10/8 & 11/12.
 

ZUMBA
Mondays: Sept. 24; Last class Nov. 26 | 8 Weeks
7:45pm – 8:45pm Held at the GT Rec Center

Zumba fuses hypnotic musical rhythms & tantalizing moves to create a dynamic workout system designed to be FUN and EASY TO DO! The routines feature interval training sessions where fast & slow rhythms & resistance training are combined to tone & sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavor & international zest into the mix and you’ve got Zumba®! Good for all fitness levels. Bring water and a towel. Ditch the workout and Join the Party! No class 10/8 & 11/12.
 

SURGE AMP RUNNING PROGRAM
6:30pm-7:30pm Held at GT Recreation Center
Cost per Session: $60. to Mario Sergi/$10. to Glo. Twp.

This program is designed for ALL fitness levels. If your new to running and looking to get in shape with a goal in mind whether it’s a mile long run or a 5k this class is just what you need to amp your fitness level. It will help you gain strength, knowledge, build endurance, and give you the cardiovascular training needed to achieve your goals. However, If you’re an experienced runner pursuing more than a 5k goal or working toward a marathon you will gain and achieve better agility, speed, distance performance, as well as gain tips to encourage one of your greatest successes in fitness. Challenge your mind as well as your abilities. Come out, Amp your fitness level and give your life the power surge it deserves to stay heart healthy.

SEWING CLASS

Dust off your sewing machine and get inspired! Sewing class for beginners through experiences taught by a full-time seamstress, will give you the confidence you need to accomplish your projects. The first two weeks we will work on a group project. Then bring a project you would like to learn about. In this laid back atmosphere bring out your creativity and meet other sewers. Please bring your machine. Open to 14 years through adult. No class 10/8 & 11/12.
 

POP MIXX FITNESS

Pop MIXX Fitness is a high energy class incorporating Cardio Hip Hop, Bollywood, Boxing, Strength, and Conditioning. This class is designed for all fitness levels. It is sure to burn calories, tone, strengthen, and boost your confidence all while having fun!

YOGA & MEDITATION FOR EVERYONE with Janice
Tuesdays: Sept. 25; Last class Nov. 13 | 8 Weeks
9:30am − 10:45am Held at Still Point Yoga Center
Cost: $60 to Still Point Yoga Center/$10. to Glo. Twp.

Combination Class – This session will start with a 45 minute yoga practice to open and energize the body. It will end with a combination of a 30 minute breathing and meditation practice. Discover and enjoy the many benefits.

STRETCH & STRENGTHEN WITH YOGA with Christine
Tuesdays: Sept. 25; Last Class Nov. 13 | 8 Weeks

Stretch and Strengthen your whole body and mind! Recharge your energy and improve your overall health and wellness with yoga. This class includes a perfect mix of yoga poses, breathing exercises and guided relaxation for a complete hatha yoga experience. Beginners are welcome. Come in comfortable clothing.
 
TOTAL BODY BLAST
Tuesdays: Sept. 25, Last class Dec. 4 | 10 Weeks
6:30pm – 7:30pm Held at Point Ariel Park
Cost: $50. to A. Davis/$10 to Glo. Twp.

Thirty minutes of various low impact cardio moves & drills. This will be followed by a full range of toning exercises designed to get your body into shape from head to toe, including those abs. Resistance bands and handled tubing will be provided for this class to increase your strengthening moves. Please bring 3 to 5 lb weights, a mat and water to class. Good sneakers are a must. Open to HS Students and adults. No class 11/6.

T’AI CHI CHIH FOR STRESS MANAGEMENT
Wednesdays: Oct. 10; Last class Dec. 5 | 8 Weeks

Experience more abundant health, harmony and balance. T’ai Chi Chih’s gentle movements release stress by relaxing and rejuvenating the body while refreshing the mind. T’ai Chi Chih consists of 19 powerful movements and 1 pose that are easily learned by anyone, regardless of age or physical condition. No class 10/31..
 
YOGA BASIC 1
Wednesdays: Sept. 26; Last class Dec. 5 | 10 Weeks

This class is a workout for the mind, body and soul that brings inner and outer balance through stretching, breath work, and meditation. Yoga promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and calms anxiety. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a towel and water. No class 10/31.
 

BODY BOOT CAMP
Wednesdays: Sept. 26; Last class Dec. 5 | 8 Weeks

Work smarter, not harder. Strengthen, tone and increase your cardio ability in this class that works you whether you’re a beginner or expert. Bring a mat, light to medium hand weights (one set of either) and water. All fitness levels welcome. No class 10/31.
 

YOGA FOR WEIGHTLOSS
Wednesdays: Sept. 26; Last class Dec. 5 | 10 Weeks

Yoga supports balancing the body on all levels. This class will utilize specific postures and breathwork that increase the metabolism and relax the mind to assist in guiding the body to its natural weight. Bring a mat/towel and blanket. No class 10/31.

YOGA FOR US – 55 PLUS with Dorothy
Thursdays: Sept. 27; Last class Nov. 15 | 8 Weeks
11:00am – 12:00pm Held at Still Point Yoga Center

Leave your worries behind, you CAN do yoga! Safely and gently stretch, wake up tired muscles, breath more effectively and learn to relax. No experience needed. Come dressed in comfortable clothing. Studio supplies mats and props if needed.
 
CHAIR YOGA with Dorothy
Thursdays: Sept. 27; Last class Nov. 15 | 8 Weeks

No matter what age, weight, flexibility, balance issues or fitness level; you can do yoga! No experience needed. Come dressed in comfortable clothing. Studio supplies chairs, props and inspiration. Wear comfortable clothing. No experience needed.
 
BARRE BODY
Thursdays: Sept. 27; Last class Dec. 6 | 8 Weeks
6:30pm – 7:30pm Held at GT Rec Center
Cost: $50 to K. Hackett/$10. Glo. Twp.

This class combines Barre and Total Body Fitness. We’ll work on arms to build muscle and add in the Barre. Barre will help you gain flexibility, balancing and toning. We’ll work on all muscle groups. Enjoy this class as you tone your total body! Good for all fitness levels. Bring water, light or medium weights and a mat. No class 11/22.
