Gloucester Township Recreation Department is excited to announce we will be offering outdoor youth and adult programs this fall! Registration begins September 1st for Gloucester Township residents and September 7th for non-residents.

We will be using CommunityPass, an online registration system with convenient 24/7 access to registration for all of the programs at the Gloucester Township Recreation Center. Simply click the link below, sign up, and enjoy the convenience of online registration. With CommunityPass there will be no more waiting in lines! It is not only easy to use, but also secure. CommunityPass accepts debit and credit cards: Visa and Mastercard (please note that a separate 2.9% processing fee will be added). The Rec Center will still hold in-person registration by appointment only. Cash, check, and credit/debit cards will be accepted during in-person registration (the processing fee will still apply for cards).

ADULT PROGRAMS

Non-Residents can now register for all Recreation Dept. Programs for an additional $10 fee.

Residents can begin registering on Sept. 1 and non-residents begin on Sept. 7. All participants will have their temperature taken and fill out a COVID screening questionnaire prior to each class.


 

Mondays

BEGINNERS LEVEL YOGA
Cost: $60 | 6 Weeks | Held at Veterans Park
Mondays: Sept. 14 – October 19 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm
Instructor: Heather from Still Point Yoga

Start the week a fresh.. with something for you. The change of season brings for a change within us. Stay connected during these ever changing times. We will learn the basics of yoga and the mind body connection. Breath relax, and unroll your mat. Bring your own mat and water.

 

ALL LEVELS YOGA
Cost: $60 | 6 Weeks | Held at Veterans Park
Mondays: Sept. 14 – October 19 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm
Instructor: Heather from Still Point Yoga

Inviting all yogis new and experienced to start the week off on the right foot! or, maybe the left? Come and find out on your mat where we will center and unwind after the first day of a new week. No experience needed. Bring your own mat and water.

 

TOTAL BODY TONING
Cost: $60 | 6 Weeks | Held outdoors at Point Ariel Park
Mondays: Sept. 14 – October 19 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm
Instructor: Alx Davis

Thirty minutes of various low impact cardio moves & drills. This will be followed by a full range of toning exercises designed to get your body into shape from head to toe, including those abs. Please bring 3 to 5 lb weights, a mat and water to class. Good sneakers are a must. Open to HS Students and adults.

 

SURGE AMP RUNNING PROGRAM
Cost: $80 | 8 Weeks | Held at GT Community Park
Mondays/Wednesdays: Sept. 21- November 11 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm
Instructor: Mario Sergi

This program is designed for ALL fitness levels. If your new to running and looking to get in shape this class is just what you need to amp your fitness level. It will help you gain strength, knowledge, build endurance, and give you the cardiovascular training needed to achieve your goals. If you’re an experienced runner, you will gain and achieve better agility, speed, distance performance, as well as gain tips to encourage one of your greatest successes in fitness. Come out, Amp your fitness level and give your life the power surge it deserves to stay heart healthy.

 

POP MIXX FITNESS
Cost: $80 | 10 Weeks | Virtual Class via ZOOM
Mondays/Wednesdays: Sept. 21- Nov. 25 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Pop MIXX Fitness is a high energy class incorporating Cardio Hip Hop, Bollywood, Boxing, Strength, and Conditioning. This class is designed for all fitness levels. It is sure to burn calories, tone, strengthen, and boost your confidence all while having fun! Private Zoom link will be sent once registered.

 

Tuesdays

MORNING YOGA
Cost: $60 | 6 Weeks | Held at Veterans Park
Tuesdays: Sept. 15 – October 20 9:30 am – 10:30 am
Instructor: Janice from Still Point Yoga

Start your day with enjoying the mornings quiet stillness as you warm up and energize the body with gentle and effective yoga poses. Complete the experience with a meditative relaxation and leave the class ready to enter the rest of your day with vitality and equanimity. No yoga experience needed. Bring your own mat and water.

 

ALL LEVELS CHALLENGING YOGA
Cost: $60 | 6 Weeks | Held at Veterans Park
Tuesdays: Sept. 15 – October 20 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Instructor: Michelle from Still Point Yoga

Invigorate the body, mind, and senses with physically challenging, yet accessible sequences. This style of yoga cultivates endurance and focus and is a wonderful practice. Accessible for beginners and challenging for all levels of experience. Bring your own yoga mat and water.

 

Wednesdays

CHAIR YOGA
Cost: $40 | 4 Weeks | Held outdoors at Point Ariel Park
Wednesdays: Sept. 16 – October 7 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Instructor: Janet from Still Point Yoga

Use a chair as a prop for support, balance, or advancing the pose as appropriate for you. Increase your strength, balance, flexibility. breath, and relaxation. All are welcome to this class. No Yoga experience needed. Bring your own mat and water.

 

T’AI CHI CHIH FOR STRESS MANAGEMENT
Cost: $40 | 4 Weeks | Held outdoors at Point Ariel Park
Wednesdays: Sept. 16 – October 7 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm
Instructor: Michelle Carlino

Experience more abundant health, harmony and balance. T’ai Chi Chih’s gentle movements release stress by relaxing and rejuvenating the body while refreshing the mind. T’ai Chi Chih consists of 19 powerful movements and 1 pose that are easily learned by anyone, regardless of age or physical condition.

 

BASIC YOGA
Cost: $40 | 4 Weeks | Held outdoors at Point Ariel Park
Wednesdays: Sept. 16 – October 7 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm
Instructor: Michelle Carlino

This class is a workout for the mind, body and soul that brings inner and outer balance through stretching, breath work, and meditation. Yoga promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and calms anxiety. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a towel and water.

 

FIT HAPPENS WITH CHRISSY
Cost: $60 | 6 Weeks | Held at Veterans Park
Wednesdays: Sept. 16 – October 21 6:30 pm – 7:15 pm
Instructor: Chrissy Manuola

Work smarter, not harder. Strengthen, tone and increase your cardio ability in this class that works you whether you’re a beginner or expert. Bring a mat, light to medium hand weights (one set of either) and water. All fitness levels welcome.

MINDFULNESS YOGA
Cost: $60 | 6 Weeks | Held outdoors at Point Ariel Park
Thursdays: Sept. 17 – October 22 10:00 am – 11:00 am
Instructor: Cathy from Still Point Yoga

Explore yoga postures, gentle movement sequences, breath work, supported silent meditation, and guided relaxation to support increased awareness and mindfulness of the breath and body, and quieting of the nervous system. No yoga experience needed. Bring your own mat and water.

 

YOGA FOR YOU
Cost: $60 | 6 Weeks | Held at GT Community Park
Thursdays: Sept. 17 – October 22 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Practice Self Care – Movement is Medicine – Move your body and calm your mind. Discover that self care is self love, with kindness, curiosity and yoga. Beginners to experienced yogis welcome. Bring your own mat and water.

 

ZUMBA
Cost: $560 | 6 Weeks | Held at Veterans Park
Thursdays: Sept. 17 – October 22 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Zumba fuses hypnotic musical rhythms & tantalizing moves to create a dynamic workout system designed to be FUN and EASY TO DO! The routines feature interval training sessions where fast & slow rhythms & resistance training are combined to tone & sculpt your body while burning fat. Good for all fitness levels. Bring water and a towel.
