Spring & Summer 2018 Program Registration Information

March 26: Program Registration for Residents
April 2: Program Registration for Non-Residents
May 7: Summer Sports Camps & Programs Registration

Registration is held at the Recreation Center beginning at 8am. You may register beginning on the above dates and can continue registering until a program fills. Space is limited for all programs and trips. In-person registration is required for all activities. Make checks payable to “Twp. of Gloucester” except where otherwise noted; two separate checks may be necessary.

Bring a valid drivers license and second proof of residency to registration to receive resident rate. Preschool registration also requires a photocopy of the child’s birth certificate and medical record. Refunds will be given if the Recreation Department cancels a trip or program due to low enrollment. We reserve the right to cancel a trip or program if enough people have not registered in advance. Program and camp refunds will be given minus a $10.00 processing fee. This refund must be requested before 20% of the scheduled classes are completed. Sports Camp refunds will be issued only if the request is made at least 1 week prior to the start. Please bring your receipt to the office for processing. All refunds take 30-45 days to process. Returned checks are subject to a $25.00 fee

The grade specified (K-8) for all summer camps is current grade for the 2017/2018 school year. We will verify age using school records or may request proof of age.

PILATES BARRE AND MAT
Mondays: April 16, Last class June 25 | 10 Weeks
6:30pm – 7:30pm Held at Point Ariel Park
Cost: $50. to A. Davis/$10. to Glo. Twp.

Get the best of 2 Pilates workouts! First part of class, enjoy Chair Barre, a combination of standing Pilates and ballet moves. This part can be done with sneakers if you have any foot injuries or balance issues. Then onto our mat Pilates workout for strengthening and toning your core and body. Good for any fitness level. Instructor will be providing bands and handled resistance tubing for you to use during class times. Please bring a mat, water & a set of light weights. No class 5/28.
 
INTERMEDIATE SEWING CLASS

Dust off your sewing machine and get inspired! Sewing class for those who know how to operate a sewing machine independently, taught by a full time seamstress. This class will give you the confidence you need to accomplish your projects. Please bring your machine. No class 5/28.
 
ZUMBA

Zumba infuses hypnotic musical rhythms & tantalizing moves to create a dynamic workout system designed to be FUN & EASY to do! The routines feature interval training sessions where fast & slow rhythms & resistance training are combined to tone your body while burning fat. Good for all fitness levels. Bring water & towel. No class 5/28.

YOGA & MEDITATION FOR ALL

Combination class-This session will start with a 45 minute yoga practice to open and energize the body. It will end with 30 minutes of breathing and meditation practice. Discover and enjoy the many benefits… Improve your mood, concentration, focus, decrease anxiety and stress and discover inner peace.
 
YOGA STRETCH AND STRENGTHEN

Stretch and strengthen your whole body and mind! Recharge your energy and improve your overall health and wellness with yoga. This class includes a perfect mix of yoga poses, breathing exercises and guided relaxation for a complete hatha yoga experience. Beginners are welcome. Come dressed in comfortable clothing. Studio supplies mats and props.
 
SUMMER BODIES

Come out for a full body conditioning class which consists of low impact cardio and drills followed by toning through HIIT, high intensity interval training, to sculpt your body and Tabata drills to challenge your muscles and stamina. This class will put fun into your workout. Bring a set of weights ,mat and water and be sure to wear good sneakers. No class 6/5.

T’AI CHI CHIH FOR STRESS MANAGEMENT
Wednesdays: April 18; Last class June 13 | 9 Weeks

Experience more abundant health, harmony and balance. T’ai Chi Chih’s gentle movements release stress by relaxing and rejuvenating the body while refreshing the mind. Done easily by anyone, regardless of age or physical condition.
 
BODY BOOT CAMP
Wednesdays: April 18; Last class June 27 | 10 Weeks

Cost: $50 to C. Manuola/$10. to Glo. Twp.

Work smarter, not harder. Strengthen, tone and increase your cardio ability in this class that works you whether you’re a beginner or expert. All that is needed is a mat, light to medium hand weights (one set of either) and water. All fitness levels welcome.

Yoga supports balancing the body on all levels. This class will utilize specific postures and breath work that increase the metabolism and relax the mind to assist in guiding the body to its natural weight. Bring a mat/towel and blanket.

Leave your worries behind, you CAN do yoga! Safely and gently stretch, wake up tired muscles, breath more effectively and learn to relax. This is a gentle hatha yoga done on yoga mats. Designed for the mature adult with average mobility, it features seated, standing and floor postures. Wear clothes that allow movement. Studio supplies all mats and props.
 
CHAIR YOGA

Let’s start with the Basics! We will cover how to operate your sewing machine, pinning, cutting, and sewing terms. You will accomplish small projects that reinforce skills you are learning. All class materials included. Open to ages 10 and up. Please bring your machine.

Cost: $75 to Yellow House Herbs/$10 to Glo. Twp.

Join us and learn all about herbs! Each week, participants will make 1 new remedy to take home, bottled and labeled properly. Learn techniques, herbal benefits, local herbs, proper herb handling and storage, as well as plant identification. All materials will be provided and will be organically grown and packaging materials will be environmentally sound. No class 6/25.

SURGE AMP RUNNING PROGRAM

This program is designed for ALL fitness levels. If your new to running and looking to get in shape with a goal in mind whether it’s a mile long run or a 5k this class is just what you need to amp your fitness level. It will help you gain strength, knowledge, build endurance, and give you the cardiovascular training needed to achieve your goals. However, If you’re an experienced runner pursuing more than a 5k goal or working toward a marathon you will gain and achieve better agility, speed, distance performance, as well as gain tips to encourage one of your greatest successes in fitness. Each session always has a diverse group of members and you will most definitely meet someone new with the same aspirations and goals as yourself. Challenge your mind as well as your abilities. Come out, Amp your fitness level and give your life the power surge it deserves to stay heart healthy. No class 7/4.

Wednesdays: June 27, July 11, 25, August 8 & 22

This class is offered for those who have already taken the basic Tai Chi Chih class. It will include the entire practice with attention to reviewing and refining movements of the form. If you have not taken the basic, but would like to follow along then feel free to come also. Tai Chi Chih is a moving meditation of 19 movements and 1 breath that is easy to learn and brings benefits quickly.
