Summer 2019 Program Registration Information

May 6: Summer Sports Camps & Programs Registration

May 28: Preschool Camp, Police Camp & Nature Camp Registration

May 29: Playground Camp, Adventure Tween & Middle School Camp Registration

June 3: Non-Resident Registration

Registration is held at the Recreation Center beginning at 8am. You may register beginning on the above dates and can continue registering until a program fills. Space is limited for all programs and trips. In-person registration is required for all activities. Make checks payable to “Twp. of Gloucester” except where otherwise noted; two separate checks may be necessary.

Bring a valid drivers license and second proof of residency to registration to receive resident rate. Preschool registration also requires a photocopy of the child’s birth certificate and medical record. Refunds will be given if the Recreation Department cancels a trip or program due to low enrollment. We reserve the right to cancel a trip or program if enough people have not registered in advance. Program and camp refunds will be given minus a $10.00 processing fee. This refund must be requested before 20% of the scheduled classes are completed. Sports Camp refunds will be issued only if the request is made at least 1 week prior to the start. Please bring your receipt to the office for processing.

All refunds take 30-45 days to process. Returned checks are subject to a $25.00 fee.

Non-Residents can register for all Recreation Dept. Programs for an additional $10 fee.

This program is designed for ALL fitness levels. If your new to running and looking to get in shape with a goal in mind whether it’s a mile long run or a 5k this class is just what you need to amp your fitness level. It will help you gain strength, knowledge, build endurance, and give you the cardiovascular training needed to achieve your goals. However, If you’re an experienced runner pursuing more than a 5k goal or working toward a marathon you will gain and achieve better agility, speed, distance performance, as well as gain tips to encourage one of your greatest successes in fitness. Challenge your mind as well as your abilities. Come out, Amp your fitness level and give your life the power surge it deserves to stay heart healthy.
 

POP MIXX FITNESS

Pop MIXX Fitness is a high energy class incorporating Cardio Hip Hop, Bollywood, Boxing, Strength, and Conditioning. This class is designed for all fitness levels. It is sure to burn calories, tone, strengthen, and boost your confidence all while having fun!

 

SEWING CLASS
Mondays: June 17; Last class Aug. 12 | 8 Weeks

Dust off your sewing machine and get inspired! Sewing class for beginners through experiences taught by a full-time seamstress, will give you the confidence you need to accomplish your projects. The first two weeks we will work on a group project. Then bring a project you would like to learn about. In this laid back atmosphere bring out your creativity and meet other sewers. Please bring your machine. Open to 14 years through adult. No class 7/8.
 

JAMS, JELLIES, & CHUTNEYS
Preserving and Canning our Summer Harvest
Mondays: July 22; Last Class August 26 | 6 weeks
7:30pm-8:30pm Held at Chews UMC, Glendora
Cost: $125 to Yellow House Herbs/$10. to Glo. Twp

Join us as we bring back the old school crafts of canning and preserving our summer harvests. We will be learning to create jams, jellies, conserves, chutneys, condiments and more and learning to preserve them for up to a year. All materials, ingredients and supplies included. Taught by a Master Herbalist and Gardener from Yellow House Herbs.
 

ZUMBA
Mondays: June 17; Last Class Aug. 5 | 8 Weeks

Zumba fuses hypnotic musical rhythms & tantalizing moves to create a dynamic workout system designed to be FUN and EASY TO DO! The routines feature interval training sessions where fast & slow rhythms & resistance training are combined to tone & sculpt your body while burning fat. Good for all fitness levels. Please bring water and a towel.

YOGA & MEDITATION FOR EVERYONE
Tuesdays: June 25; Last Class Aug. 13 | 8 Weeks

Healthy Body and Calm Mind. This session will start with a breath-centered slow flow yoga practice to open and energize the body. Class will end with yoga breath work leading into a silent meditation. Discover and enjoy the many benefits. Improve your mood, concentration, focus, decrease anxiety and stress.
 

STRETCH AND STRENGTHEN WITH YOGA

Stretch and Strengthen your whole body and mind! Recharge your energy and improve your overall health and wellness with yoga. This class includes a perfect mix of yoga poses, breathing exercises and guided relaxation for a complete hatha yoga experience. Beginners are welcome. Come dressed in comfortable clothing. Studio supplies mats and props.
 
ADULT Mini Tennis SELFFtime

Using smaller courts and rackets, and softer and slower tennis balls, we teach agility, balance, and coordination through engaging group activities. BEACH BODIES

Summer is here so let’s keep ourselves Beachbody fit! We will be doing cardio drills, full body toning moves, high intensity interval training and, of course, butt and gut! Come enjoy this Summer Challenge with me! Please bring some 3 to 5 lb weights, a mat and water. Open to HS Students and adults.

T’AI CHI CHIH FOR STRESS MANAGEMENT
Wednesdays: June 26; Last class Aug 7 | 7 Weeks

Experience more abundant health, harmony and balance. T’ai Chi Chih’s gentle movements release stress by relaxing and rejuvenating the body while refreshing the mind. T’ai Chi Chih consists of 19 powerful movements and 1 pose that are easily learned by anyone, regardless of age or physical condition. Open to HS students and adults.
 
YOGA BASIC I
Wednesdays: June 26; Last class August 14 | 8 Weeks

This class is a workout for the mind, body and soul that brings inner and outer balance through stretching, breath work, and meditation. Yoga promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and calms anxiety. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a towel and water. Open to HS students and adults.
 

BODY BOOT CAMP

Held at Recreation Center
Cost: $50 for 1 day or $90 for both to C. Manuola/$10. to Glo. Twp.

Work smarter, not harder. Strengthen, tone and increase your cardio ability in this class that works you whether you’re a beginner or expert. All that is needed is a mat, light to medium hand weights and water. Cost is per session: Weds or Thurs.

Leave your worries behind, you CAN do yoga! Safely and gently stretch, wake up tired muscles, breath more effectively and learn to relax. No matter what age, weight, flexibility, balance issues or fitness level; you can do yoga! No experience needed. Come dressed in comfortable clothing. Studio supplies mats and props if needed. No class 7/4.
 
CHAIR YOGA

Feel Good ! No matter what age, weight, flexibility, balance issues or fitness level; you can do yoga! No experience needed. Come dressed in comfortable clothing. Studio supplies chairs, props and inspiration. No yoga experience needed. No class 7/4.
 
BARRE BODY

Cost: $50 to Kathy Hackett/$10. Glo. Twp.

This class combines Barre and Total Body Fitness. We’ll work on arms to build muscle and add in the Barre. Barre will help you gain flexibility, balancing and toning. We’ll work on all muscle groups. Enjoy this class as you tone your total body! Good for all fitness levels. Bring water, light or medium weights and a mat.
