Winter 2020 ADULT PROGRAMS REGISTRATION INFORMATION

January 2: Program Registration for Residents
January 8: Program Registration for Non-Residents

Registration for programs are held at the Recreation Center beginning at 8am and will continue until the program or trip reaches capacity.

Space is limited for all programs and trips. In-person registration is required for all activities. Registration forms must be filled out by the participant or parent/guardian.

All programs require advanced registration. We accept cash, money order or check only. Make checks payable to “Twp. of Gloucester” except where otherwise noted; two separate checks may be necessary.

Bring a valid drivers license or proof of residency to registration to receive resident rate. Preschool registration also requires a photocopy of the child’s birth certificate & medical records.

Full refunds will be given if we cancel a trip or program due to low enrollment. We reserve the right to cancel a trip or program if enough people have not registered in advance.
Program refunds will be given minus a $10.00 processing fee. This refund must be requested before 20% of the scheduled classes are completed. Please bring your receipt to the office for processing. All refunds take 30-45 days to process.

Mondays

PILATES BARRE AND MAT
Mondays: January 13, Last class March 30 | 10 Weeks

Get the best of 2 Pilates workouts! First, Chair Barre, a combination of standing Pilates and ballet moves. Then onto our mat Pilates workout for strengthening and toning your core and body. Good for any fitness level. Instructor will be providing bands and handled resistance tubing. Please bring a mat, water & a set of light weights. Open to HS and above. No class 1/20 & 2/17.
 

SURGE AMP RUNNING PROGRAM
Mondays/Wednesdays: January 29; Last Class April 8 \ 10 Weeks
6:30pm – 7:30pm Held at GT Recreation Center & Vet Park
Cost per Session: $80. to Mario Sergi/$10. to Glo. Twp.

Start the new year on the right foot. Join us as we train to run the 23rd Anniversary Gloucester Twp 5k. We will take you step by step from a bystander to the finish line. Wear supportive running shoes and bring a water bottle. Let’s improve one step at a time. We meet at the Rec Center or Veterans’ Park (weather permitting). Come out and be a part of Team Mario! You must enter the GT 5K race on your own. No Class 2/17.
 

POP MIXX FITNESS

Pop MIXX Fitness is a high energy class incorporating Hip Hop, Bollywood, Boxing, Strength, and Conditioning. Designed for all fitness levels. It is sure to burn calories, tone, strengthen, and boost your confidence all while having fun!
 

SEWING CLASS
Mondays: January 27; Last class March 23 | 8 Weeks
7:00 – 9:00pm Held at GT Recreation Center

Dust off your sewing machine and get inspired! Sewing class for those who know how to operate a sewing machine, taught by a full time seamstress. This class will give you the confidence to accomplish your projects. The first 2 weeks we will work on a group project, then you choose projects to work at your own pace and level. Bring out your creativity and meet other sewers. Bring your machine. Open to 14 years through adult. No class 2/17.
 

ADULT HERBALISM
Mondays: January 13; Last Class February 17 | 6 weeks

We will continue our study of herbs with a forage into what is available during the winter months, how to find and preserve it, and what to do with it all! 6 more useful remedies will be created based on newfound knowledge. Join us to learn some medicinal complements for optimal health. No pre-requisites.
 

ADULT HERBALISM WITH GARDEN PLANTING
Mondays: March 2; Last Class April 6 | 6 weeks

In this class we will again be learning about 6 new herbs and 6 new remedies, but we will also incorporate our learning into planning our summer herb garden. Discussions on garden styles, companion planting, growing conditions, and organic methods will culminate in a working gardener’s journal to use all summer long.
 

ZUMBA
Mondays: January 27; Last class March 23 | 8 Weeks

Zumba fuses hypnotic musical rhythms & tantalizing moves to create a dynamic workout system designed to be FUN and EASY TO DO! The routines feature interval training sessions where fast & slow rhythms & resistance training are combined to tone & sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavor & international zest into the mix and you’ve got Zumba®! Good for all fitness levels. Please bring water and a towel. No class 2/17.

YOGA & MEDITATION FOR EVERYONE
Tuesdays: January 21; Last class March 10 | 8 Weeks
9:30am − 10:45am Held at Still Point Yoga Center

Combo Class – This session will start with a 45 minute yoga practice to open and energize the body. It will end with a combination of a 30 minute breathing and meditation practice. YOGA STRETCH AND STRENGTHEN

Stretch and Strengthen your whole body and mind! Recharge your energy and improve your overall health and wellness. This class is a perfect mix of yoga poses, breathing exercises and guided relaxation for a complete hatha yoga experience. Beginners welcome. Studio supplies mats and props.
 

TOTAL BODY BLAST
Tuesdays: January 14, Last class March 17 | 10 Weeks
6:30pm – 7:30pm Held at Point Ariel Park

Enjoy fast paced warm up drills followed by all over full body workouts including abs! Every class brings something new and challenging. We’ll be doing various tabata, HIIT, partner drills and the famous 331″s. Bring water, a mat and 3 – 5 lb weights. Instructor will provide the rest of what you will need. Challenge yourself and start working on that summer body. Open to HS and above.
 

INTRO TO BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU & GRAPPLING
Tuesdays: January 14, Last class March 17 | 10 Weeks

Learn the combat art of submission grappling in a safe and fun environment! The ultimate self-development tool: this sport is a fantastic way to get in shape, grow confidence, engage in practical self defense and make new friends. Learn the fundamentals of how to take an aggressor to the ground, use your body to control them and the power of simple leverage to apply a range of joint locks and submissions. Beginners thru experienced are welcome! Wear comfortable, good fitting shorts & t-shirt. Ages 16+.

T’AI CHI CHIH FOR STRESS MANAGEMENT

Experience more abundant health, harmony and balance. T’ai Chi Chih’s gentle movements release stress by relaxing and rejuvenating the body while refreshing the mind. T’ai Chi Chih consists of 19 powerful movements and 1 pose that are easily learned by anyone, regardless of age or physical condition.

 

YOGA BASIC I

This class is a workout for the mind, body and soul that brings inner and outer balance through stretching, breath work, and meditation. Yoga promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and calms anxiety. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a towel and water.
 

FIT HAPPENS WITH CHRISSY
Wednesdays: January 22; Last class March 25 | 10 Weeks
6:30pm – 7:30 pm Held at Recreation Center

Work smarter, not harder. Strengthen, tone and increase your cardio ability in this class that works you whether you’re a beginner or expert. All that is needed is a mat, light to medium hand weights (one set of either) and water. All fitness levels welcome.

 

YOGA FOR WEIGHTLOSS
Wednesdays: January 22; Last class March 25 | 10 Weeks

Yoga supports balancing the body on all levels. This class will utilize specific postures and breathwork that increase the metabolism and relax the mind to assist in guiding the body to its natural weight. Please bring a mat or towel and a blanket.

YOGA FOR US – 55 PLUS

Leave your worries behind; you CAN do yoga. Stretch and wake up tired muscles, learn to breathe more effectively and to relax more deeply. This is a gentle Hatha yoga class done on yoga mats. Designed for the mature adult with average mobility it features seated, standing and floor postures. Wear clothes that allow ease of movement. Still Point provides mats and props.
 

CHAIR YOGA
Thursdays: January 23; Last Class March 12 | 8 Weeks
2:00pm – 3:00pm Held at Still Point Yoga Center

No matter what age, weight, flexibility, balance issues or fitness level; you can do yoga! No experience needed. Come dressed in comfortable clothing. Studio supplies chairs, props and inspiration. No yoga experience needed.
