Winter Weather Advisory – Preparedness & Safety Tips
As winter weather approaches, Gloucester Township Police would like to remind residents of a few important safety and preparedness tips in the event of a significant snowstorm.
Please help us keep our community safe by following these guidelines:
- Remove all parked vehicles and/or trailers from roadways whenever possible to allow Gloucester Township Public Works crews to properly plow and treat streets.
- Avoid traveling during and immediately after snowfall to give plow and salt trucks time to safely clear roadways.
- If travel is necessary, allow extra time and ensure your vehicle is completely cleared of snow and ice, including the roof.
- Residents living near fire hydrants are asked to clear snow from the front, back, and sides of the hydrant so emergency personnel can access them quickly if needed.
- Residents with special needs who live in Gloucester Township, Camden County (not Gloucester City or municipalities within Gloucester County) are encouraged to register for the Emergency Preparedness Registry.
