Kiwanis Children’s Garden

In 2016, the Kiwanis Club of Gloucester Township-Blackwood formed a partnership with the Gloucester Township Police Department and became a sponsor of the Family Resource Center. In early spring, 2017, construction of four raised beds began. Kids came together, vegetables were planted and a weekly Children’s Group began. In 2018 we expanded the vegetable garden and create a free, outdoor Children’s Little Free Library Station with dedicated reading area on site. In 2019 we have added more raised beds.
The Children’s Garden was created to educate and enrich the children of our community. The garden club meets every Wednesday. Weather Permitting!
Every week we involve the children in the life cycle of a garden from planting, maintaining, care, and harvesting of the garden. We also offer arts and crafts projects, and activities for the the children every meeting. This weekly event is no cost to any of our guests, we simply want to do our part to engage and teach the children in our community. The program is geared for children in the K-5 range.

The garden is located at the Gloucester Township Family Resource Center at 1324 Little Gloucester Rd. It is the road that runs directly next to the Lamp Post Diner.
Hope to see you there!!!
